HOWARD'S MOUNTAIN LODGE, National Park

Howard's Lodge offers a range of accommodations, including standard rooms with shared bathrooms, deluxe rooms with private bathroom facilities, and self-contained rooms. The Ruapehu Wing Family House sleeps up to 10 and features a lounge, kitchen, and garden. Guestrooms have amenities for a comfortable night's sleep. Some rooms include tea and coffee facilities, a sitting area, a dressing area, a dining table, a patio, and garden furniture. A family room includes a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer, a balcony, a tea and coffee maker, a sofa, and a flat-screen TV. Rooms range from private en-suite rooms for couples, families, or groups of 2 to 6 people, with linen, towels and complimentary toiletries to basic bunk rooms, in 4/6/8 bed configurations.

Guests can play billiards on the property. Activities in the surrounding area include skiing, snowboarding, canoeing, mountain biking, and fishing. Ski equipment, tramping boots, walking poles and mountain bikes are available for rental. The lodge provides packed lunches, ski boots and other ski equipment. A guest lounge with a fireplace is available.

Howard's Mountain Lodge is set in National Park in the Manawatu Region, less than 15 km from Mount Ruapehu and 95 km from Taupo. The lodge is located at the intersection of State Highway No. 4 and State Highway No. 47 on the volcanic Plateau. Guests of Howards Lodge can visit Whakapapa.

Guests arriving outside reception opening hours are requested to inform the hotel in advance. Daily transport to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is available, and shuttles can be booked on arrival for the 42 Traverse Mountain bike track. Ski equipment and bike hire are available.

Everything at Howard's Lodge is supplied for guest comfort. The lodge has a barbecue and a hot tub. The lodge features a guest lounge with a fireplace. Whether it's a crisp winter morning or a sun filled summer day, the beautiful National Park will fulfill all your expectations.
